Employee satisfaction is not difficult to uphold, but employers are not giving the time to understand the core motivators of their employees and how these change over time. Understanding your people and feeding their motivators will keep them long term and we have found that this is very rarely linked to having to pay more money. It is generally linked to communication and feedback, know what your employees need and don’t rely on what they tell you as even they don’t always know themselves very well and even if they do they don’t want to share with you. Be objective, undertake psychometric testing to get it right and keep those people long term.
