Your time is invaluable, so is it really a valuable use of your time to spend 8 hours a day 5 days a week job hunting? Can anybody do the same thing 8 hours a day 5 days a week? Well I suppose you can and we have all done it when we had our first boring jobs and it was just about earning a bit of money. However, what mindset does that put you in? You need to allocate a certain amount of time each day to job-hunting. This will be broken down across all of the 10 tasks of job hunting, including allowing time to go for interviews. Remember if you just sit around and do sloppy job hunting you are not showing respect for your own time and this in turn transposes into if you don’t respect your time then no one else will either. Decide on the number of hours and the tasks for that day. Decide is morning or afternoon better for you. Stop trying to do something early morning if you are a late afternoon and evening person. Don’t try to be something you are not, just be very effective in the time you do spend job hunting.
